Perhaps, I Suppose

I have learnt
I am still learning
And I will continue on learning

So please do forgive me
Please give your guidance
For I am trying to be a better person
For I am still trying to find myself

Don't shun me aside
Take me under your wings
And bring me there

What is all this commotion?
Suddenly they turn to hushed conversations
What happened?

Where did the familiarity of this place go?
This place I used to call home
This place where I used to seek comfort in
Everything seems so foreign

Have we forgotten?
Have we lost ourselves?
Into a world of nothing?

Or did we simply fade away?

I Wish I Was Six Again

My own beach boy :)
Went for a weekend getaway with Azril to Port Dickson. The beach is not mind-blowing, but it is the nearest clean beach to KL. It's good enough when you just need a little time out from city life and the stresses that come along with it.

The fun part (and tiring at the same time) is the trip to get back and forth to said destination. Basically we took quite a few public transports. Cab, KTM, bus and the monorail. Taking public transportations (except of course cabs, as many cab drivers are BIG time rip-offers!) saves a LOT of money. The trip back and forth only cost us both less than RM40!

We didn't do much in PD, not that there is that many things to do there. We went to the beach and watched the sunset. Sunsets never fail to take my breath away, and the ocean too.

All in all, it was great.

You are my sunshine.

I'm Wide Awake, It's Morning

Late nights to late early mornings, meaningful conversations which turn into aimless chit chats, dvds, soju, mcds and great company.

No coffee needed.

I Know That It is Freezing

It has been so gloomy these past few days. It has been raining all day for the past week. The weather is seriously not on our side. You know how hard it is to wake up to a morning class when the weather is not cooperating with u? When you just want to cuddle in the comforts of your bed and shun the world aside for a little while until the weather gets better.

I was really hoping for a brighter and a more uplifting day the day before yesterday. But so much for that. So I was outside just having some fresh air. I was looking down at this puddle of water, and suddenly I felt emotions rushing up inside me. Certain things flashed through my mind. The things I have done in the past and those that have made a mark in my life. I swear I stared at that puddle for like a full two minutes, which is a pretty long time when you are just looking at a stationary object.
That weirded me out a little.

Funny how these moments occur at the randomest of times.

A Twist in Their Story

Not your typical Disney love story, nor is it Romeo and Juliet. Not even close. It slams the harsh reality of love and life in your face. It's one of the few Indonesian movies I have watched which actually has a meaning. As any other love story, there's a guy and and a girl who fell madly in love, yadda yadda. But the twist is, their lifestyle involves drugs, rock and roll, sex, poverty, stealing and everything else in the mix. As their lifestyle starts to take its toll on their lives, they make a few changes here and there. But will true, yet twisted, love prevail?

Glory Glory

Happy 63rd, Indonesia!

"On the 63rd anniversary of Indonesia's independence, we should rejoice. We freed ourselves from colonialism and stayed a free country. At the same time we mourn at the state of the nation though not without hope."
The Jakarta Post

In addition to that, Indonesia won its first gold in the Olympics 2008! On the same day itself. Woohoo. All hail Indonesian badminton duo Markis Kido and Hendra Setiawan! Finally, after that embarassing defeat of Taufik Hidayat in the men's single event. Happy happy joy joy.

What It Isn't Like It Should Be

Sorry for the things that I have said,
and for what I have done.

And forgive me for what I have not.

"Please don't let this turn into something it's not
I can only give you everything I've got
I can't be as sorry as you think I should
But I still love you more than anyone else could"

You Gotta Go There to Come Back

A close friend passed away about a few months ago. That made me realize and overwhelmed about how short and unpredictable life really is. You will not feel so until someone close to you is actually gone. It seemed unreal as I met you just the day before. He was just so young and such a great friend. It felt like he was meant to do something great, when fate got in the way and stopped him from doing so. If something like that happens to you, then only will you really cherish the small things in life and the people that you love and who love you back. We missed you so, and we still do.

May you rest in peace beside Him, Nazirul Izwan.

Lies, Lies, Life, Lies, Lies, Love, Lies, Lies

"What did you expect me to do?"
"Understand."
"Why didn't you lie to me?"
"Cause we said we'd always tell each other the truth."
"What's so great about the truth? Try lying for a change. It's the currency of the world."

The last line from the movie Closer caught my attention. I just can't get my head around why
people prefer lies over truths. Why is this? So Dan, Jude Law's character, rather not know that the person he loves has slept with someone else? Like her ex-husband? I find this really funny and intriguing, at the same time. I mean, picture this, you're in the same situation as him. Would you prefer to know then and there or later?

And the other thing is that he said that lying is 'the currency of the world', which just shows lying is so common in this world, and people (or should I say everyone?) lie to go about our lives. And it just makes you think that life, love and lies are intertwined together. As if they go hand in hand. One never goes without the other two. It's inevitable. It's like an unwritten law or something.

It reminds me of another line from The Used's On My Own, "Knowing nothing is better than knowing at all". Don't you find it funny too? I personally think knowing is better than not. Why do you want to live with a lie? But thing is, when do you know it's a lie, that you choose not to know at all? How do you know someone is lying, that you better not know? Ahh, another one of life's mysteries.

Go check the movie out. Mr Law is so effing hot. I found it's worth a watch. Pretty witty, too. Well, then again, that's my opinion.

Un Deux Trois Quatre Cinq Six Sept

Happy 7th Monthsary, you.

Seven down, many many more to come. I just want you to know how much I appreciate you for always being there for me, for being such a wonderful part of my life, for being you.. You are my strength and
my courage. You mean the world to me, and no less. No one, nothing can change that. That's one thing I can promise you, and I don't usually do promises. I love you.

Thingles Jingles

The things that we have forgotten,
The things that we didn't take the time to notice,
The things that we have taken for granted,
The things that we miss only after we lose them,
The things that we have overlooked,
The things left unsaid.

What does it take for us to notice?
To appreciate?

A Sudden Rush

Yes, I have a blog. Which is pretty weird for me, since I used to find it a nuisance. But I realised it's not all that bad. It's where you can express yourself, where people's opinions don't matter and where yours do. Well, maybe you think they do. Either way, you continue on writing. After all, what's the use of that little thing you call freedom of speech when you don't, right? :)
